ALEXANDER MCQUEEN S/S 2012 Rare Textured Runway Dress

Breathtaking rare Alexander McQueen runway dress from Spring/Summer 2012. This beautiful piece was look number 9 on the runway.

This collection is considered one of Sarah Burton’s best for McQueen. Inspired by the three G’s : Grés for draping, Gaudí for architecture and Gaia for oceanic life, and beauty at its most extreme. This light coral dress with the most majestic details and complex texture, is an incredible example of Burtons early work for McQueen; surreal and unapologetically feminine.

The couture-level dress is made from silk and metal and features a built in boned corset, a flattering sweetheart neckline, cut out shoulders and even pockets. The fabric is truly luxurious and special, described at best like ruched silk adorned with tiny pearls. The accompanying leather belt adds the trademark McQueen edge to the dress. The dress has weight and feels truly opulent, its a beautiful collectors piece which will always hold its value.

The original tags are still attached. It is in great condition. The manufacturing process of the fabric produced intended irregular over rips in the fabric, these mini rips are part of the dress. Also some of the edges have been left raw so slight fraying is expected and normal :)
