Tom Ford is an American designer and film maker who gained huge recognition as the creative director for Gucci from 1994 to 2004. Ford studied architecture at Parsons New York before finding his feet in the fashion world through working for one year at the Chloe Press office in Paris. After he graduated Ford was hired by sportswear designer Cathy Harwick and later worked for Perry Ellis.

Ford joined Gucci when the company was almost bankrupt and is is credited with saving the company with his glamorous, provocative and often controversial aesthetic. In 2006 his own company Tom Ford was launched and today the company focuses on menswear, womenswear, fragrance, eyewear and beauty; always with a sophisticated, timeless and luxurious aesthetic.
