From Alexander McQueen’s Spring Summer 2007 collection, this 100% silk skirt features a voluminous bubble silhouette with layered sheer silk printed throughout with butterflies and moths.
The exaggerated rounded shape reflects the cocoon-like volumes seen throughout the runway collection, where natural imagery was combined with sculptural construction and distortion. Oversized strap details at the hips introduce a subtle utilitarian contrast against the lightness of the silk.
A beautiful McQueen commercial piece that captures the romantic and highly atmospheric mood of the collection.
