From Givenchy’s Fall Winter 1996 collection by John Galliano. For his first ready-to-wear collection for the house, Galliano brought together Givenchy’s Parisian elegance with references to his Spanish heritage. Toreador-inspired details, flamenco influences and tailoring appeared throughout the collection.
This rare runway dress is made in a shimmering pale yellow fabric and features a long, streamlined silhouette with lightly structured shoulders and an elegant boat neckline. Asymmetric draped panels overlap through the skirt to create a vent, with the volume of fabric giving the silhouette a subtle tulip-like shape.
An incredibly rare and highly collectible piece from John Galliano’s time at Givenchy.
